This site speaks about the city of Florence: its past as well as its present, with chapters about its history and geography, as well as general cultural and artistic information for the preset-day visitor. I have no intention of writing a scholarly work, but only intend to give a general idea of what makes Florence so fascinating that it attracts so many people to this city.

Even if the name of the site might indicate the site is only for students, I use the word in a wider sense, taking into consideration not only those who study at the many universities in Florence, but also learners at language schools as well as informed visitors, those who would like to know a little more about the city and its people.
